Our Rare Goat Breed
Our goat milk soap is produced from a rare breed of goats called Nigerian Dwarfs. These goats produce milk with the highest butterfat content of all dairy goats. The fat content comes in between 6%-10% which can be double the amount of fat content in some cases compared to other goat breeds. They also have a superior lipoprotein make up, which enhances the ability to restore your skin.

Upon first use, this soap smelled like fresh linen. The more I used it, a floral note came through that reminded me of violets. One thing I notice about some of the EBC soaps is that they are like two soaps in one because of the layered fragrances. It starts off with one note, but the more you use them, another scent kicks in that you might not have noticed before. Attention to fragrance details is definitely EBC's strong suit. This rose soap does not have a cheap perfume or imitation rose smell like other brands have. It actually smells like fresh cut roses. It's very moisturizing and the exfoliation side is good for smoothing out my heels. One thing I can say about Eden Body Care is that they do not skimp on the scents; they are robust and lingering. EBC soaps are very well-made and worth every penny.

Enter the Matrix - Understanding your skin
Your skin is your body's largest organ and it protects you from the elements of the environment around you. The stratum corneum (the outermost layer), consists mainly of dead cells with cholesterol collected in their centers to provide strength for protection. These brick-like structures contains an incredibly vital substance called the "lipid matrix". The lipid matrix is like mortar on a brick wall which holds everything together. When this lipid matrix gets broken down, this is what causes dry, cracked, and irritated skin.
OATS - MORE THAN JUST FOOD
In our bar of Oatmeal and Honey Goat Milk Soap, we add colloidal oatmeal because it has been used for centuries to treat skin conditions including eczema, burns and other inflammatory skin issues. Colloidal oatmeal is made by grinding oats very finely, making a powder-like consistency that acts as a moisturizer.

Cold Process Soap Making
The Formula: Fat + Sodium Hydroxide = Soap
Goat's Milk + Sodium Hydroxide
Every batch of handcrafted goat milk soap starts with our fresh Nigerian Dwarf goat's milk and sodium hydroxide solution. Without sodium hydroxide there is no soap. But there is never any sodium hydroxide left in the final bar of soap after saponification.
This is a delicate process since we don't want to scorch our goat's milk, ruining the beneficial vitamins and minerals in it.
Saponification
The goat milk and sodium hydroxide solution is then blended with a big tub of oils that include oils such as olive oil, cocoa butter and shea butter. As it blends, the sodium hydroxide solution ultimately "eats" the oils, in a natural chemical reaction called Saponification.
This is known as cold-process soap making, an ancient and traditional way of making soap.
Curing Stage
We then pour the goat milk soap batter into soap molds and leave it overnight to let the saponification process continue. The day after, we cut our soaps into bars and we cure it for a minimum of 6-8 weeks to allow the natural water content in the goat's milk to evaporate, resulting in a harder and longer lasting bar of goat milk soap.
Superfat means super moisturizing
We want to give you the maximum benefits in each bar of soap so we use a process called superfatting. Superfatting is when you use an excess amount of fats which become unsaponifiable because the sodium hydroxide cannot consume this abundance of fats. This means you end up with a bar of soap that is super hydrating.

Most soaps you will find in the store is made with water. As you know, water dilutes everything. We use 100% Nigerian Dwarf Goat's Milk in our goat milk soaps which makes each bar filled with vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids. - Does the soap make bubbles or sud up?
Absolutely! Without suds or bubbles, a bar of soap is not true soap. Our soaps have amazing lather power and will make bubbles to effectively cleanse you. - I am lactose intolerant, can I still use your goat milk soaps?

Germs and viruses are like tiny grease balls. When you mix soap with water together it causes these soap molecules to start emulsifying and mixing with the oils, then it starts pulling things apart. We personally use soap dishes with holes in them so the bar of soap can drain off after use. We suggest after lathering up with a bar of soap, that you rinse it off and store them on something away from water. That way your bar of soap will last longer.
